Home for now and peace descends
I’ve spent the night with cause and friends The laughter reigned; the music flowed All smiles, sparkles, peace; we glowed The sweet red wine; the driest sherry Meld them with the sweet strawberry Unbelievable delight Nonstop surprise throughout the night Inspired; Awed; now left to thought This eve now bridges what it ought One chance to make this life complete To truly live? No easy feat. The warm blush creeps over my skin Dare I let the hope back in? Have now I found the wall is crumbling? Do I even want to stop the tumbling? Moments clear; the muzzle flashed Triumphant pride and not abashed Acceptance; Need; Desire sparks The warmth remains into the dark Dreams start creeping from within A smile tugs; an easy win I’ll lay my cards down; chance it all Defy gravity; risk the fall This fairy tale will sometime end I’ll be left to focus and defend But somehow find that piece of me I’d buried deep…and now set free.
